DRIVEN BY DESIGN

The avant gardener strikes again in the current issue of Michigan Avenue Magazine. The magazine approached weetu at this year's Guerrilla Truck show where they interviewed Jorge about our latest weetree wall creation. Aside from the walls looking stunning, we were also amazed at Jorge's modeling skills and matching green shoes.
New concepts are in the works, so this won't be the last blurb about weetree walls. Check 'em out!

Guerrilla's and weetu's

MEDIA ALERT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WEETU COMES READY TO PLAY AT THE 7TH ANNUAL GUERRILLA TRUCK SHOW
Chicago-based design collaborative unveils new innovations and designs

WHAT
New indoor/outdoor products to release at Guerrilla Truck Show

WHEN
June 14, 2011 5:30PM

WHO
Weetu Corp.

WHERE
@ 7th Annual Guerilla Truck Show, 1052 West Fulton Market, Chicago

HOW
Weetu will unveil three new products in the “WEEINVENT” truck.
Leading the pack is the newest line of “Weetree WallsTM”, illuminated, self-watering indoor/outdoor wall gardens perfect for restaurant installations. Planted with herbs and edibles during the warmer months, and maintains visual beauty during the colder months.

Next up is "Plant-Lamp" glowing diamond, the first-prototype in a collection of flat-pack snap-together, dual-function home accessories. Despite packing a big illuminated punch, this table-top dynamo canʼt ever be mistaken for itʼs outdoor cousin, “Big Daddy Diamond” steel planter, who sits at almost 3-feet in length with a sparkling car paint finish.

Bringing up the rear in more ways than one are “Fuk'n Frok'n Positional Bedsheets” available in “Dog-E” and “On-A-Mission” styles. A collaborative experiment with photography and graphic design, these digitally printed, eco-friendly bedsheets are a hinted surprise when the cover comes off.

WHY
Founded on a model of inventiveness, weetu brings together seasoned creative leaders from multiple disciplines and backgrounds to generate new ideas and products. Core to its design is the concept of “collaborative play” fueling weetuʼs overall environment and creative processes. It is through this hands-on approach where weetuʼs design teams are encouraged to explore ideas and inspirations free of limitations.

For more information about weetuʼs new products, visit us on June 14th at www.goweetu.com/weeinvent

the power of wee

Carly Cannell and Jorge Orozco-Cordero of weetu and weetree are recognized as a dynamic collaborative in the Fall issue of CS Interiors, which you can read online (page 92-93) at media.modernluxury.com. Always demonstrating that multiple minds are better than one in striving for innovation, the versatile weetu + weetree studios continue to explore new ideas, especially in a sluggish market. Cannell, a Californian native, shares, "I have a hard time welcoming winter, but I do enjoy the idea of throwing on my leopard print snuggie* and getting my hands dirty in the workshop. We have a long list of internal projects to create."

The next generation of the weetree wall is also in the works. Spring should be an exciting season to see what the wee groups produce.

*Cannell does not currently own a snuggie, and it cannot be confirmed if it's on her wishlist this coming holiday season.

Weetree Wall™ Featured on Lushe.com.au

This is pretty cool for us. Lushe.com.au is a blog we use as a reference for our living wall development projects. Josh did a nice write up on Weetree Wall™ all the way from Australia. I just happened to stumble upon it in my routine reading.

Weetree Wall™ is Better Than a Dead Wall

Whether for sun, shade or herb gardens, your garage walls now can be come the envy of neighbors and a centerpiece to the garden.
